Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Lakeside Dining Commons as a Student Dishroom Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
The Student Dishroom Assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the dishroom, ensuring dining areas remain stocked with clean dishes and utensils. This role is an essential part of the dining team, contributing to a smooth and sanitary dining experience for students and staff.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Properly sort, rinse, and load dishes into dish machines and assist in restocking clean dishes, utensils, and kitchenware
  • Maintain cleanliness of dish room, floors, and workstations and dispose of trash and food waste in designated areas
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Assist team members and perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 25 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
