Job description

Work Flexibility: Hybrid

We are hiring a Staff Engineer to join our New Product Development team within the R&D department at Sage Products, a business unit within Stryker. This role will involve the design and development of new medical devices that support the mission of Sage - creating simple interventions with extraordinary outcomes. The individual will be involved throughout the entire product development cycle from concept to launch, working closely with other disciplines within R&D to ensure products are developed effectively, safely and efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision.

  • Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions.

  • Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance.

  • Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes.

  • Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices.

  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.

  • Minimum four years of relevant engineering experience.

  • Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.

  • Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and models using GD&T and CAE tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD tools, preferably Creo.

  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

  • Familiarity with risk management and quality systems in a regulated environment.

United States of America Pay Ranges:

  • US10: $98,200 - $163,700 USD Annual.
