Job description

Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a SAP PS Architect. The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you'll do: As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for understanding requirements / problem statements specific to Project Systems within our SAP landscapes and build solution architectures which meet those requirements. Understand various enterprise/strategic applications, security policies /standards defined in Eaton, apply architecture best practices to craft an architecture that is secure, scalable, cost effective, performance efficient and resilient.

You will drive and/or take part in technical solutions discussions, present your architectures along with supporting artifacts to council of enterprise architects, business, cyber security team and other stakeholders to get their feedback and accommodate it in your architecture. The SAP Project Systems Architect is responsible for providing solution architecture, functional leadership, and business advisory support for SAP Project Systems capabilities, with a focus on SAP Project Controlling and Cross-Application Time Sheet. This role partners with Finance, Controllership, Operations, Program Management, and IT stakeholders to design, enhance, and sustain SAP solutions that support project accounting, project cost planning, budget control, time capture, settlement, reporting, and integration with related SAP and boundary systems.

You will help the business in evaluating technical capabilities of SaaS applications in the market which could potentially meet business requirements, rate, recommend preferred SaaS application and develop architecture to onboard it, integrate it with other Eaton on premises/ cloud hosted/ SaaS applications as applicable. You will provide architectures to integrate existing Eaton applications to meet a specific business need and serve as a trusted advisor to the business on SAP Project Systems best practices, helping translate business requirements into scalable, compliant, and supportable SAP solutions. The role requires strong functional knowledge of SAP Project Systems, proven experience with Project Controlling and CATS, and the ability to guide stakeholders through process design decisions, solution tradeoffs.

Job responsibilities Serve as the SAP Project Systems solution architect for projects, enhancements, and production support activities related to project accounting, project controlling, time capture, and related Finance processes. Advise business stakeholders on SAP Project Systems best practices, including work breakdown structure design, project profiles, network activities, cost planning, budgeting, availability control, settlement, capitalization, and project closeout. Provide functional expertise for SAP Project Controlling processes, including project cost collection, cost allocation, budget monitoring, settlement rules, results analysis, and integration with Controlling, Asset Accounting, General Ledger, Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, and Plant Maintenance where applicable.

Provide functional expertise for Cross-Application Time Sheet, including time entry, approval, transfer, labor cost allocation, integration with Project Systems, Controlling, Human Capital Management, and external time reporting processes. Design solutions that meet customer and stakeholder needs. Create Dataflow and Process mappings.

Assure the feasibility and sustainability of designed solutions. Design and evolve technical solutions that support current and future needs. Manage nonfunctional requirements and compliance.

Define and prioritize enablers including exploration work and technical debt reduction. Enable continuous integration and continuous delivery that enables immediate feedback and adjustment. Maintain architectural runways for a series of products within SAP Project Systems.

Manage, track, evaluate technical capability across SAP Project Systems to facilitate the selection and alignment of a technical solution following enterprise guardrails. Execute POCs where applicable. Responsible for ensuring design meets Eaton's standards and requirements.

Partner with other Architects to evaluate capabilities and features to expand the use of an existing application to meet additional business requirements. Qualifications: Basic (required) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 7 years' experience supporting, designing, implementing, or architecting SAP Project Systems solutions. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Beachwood OH, Galesburg MI, Houston TX, Menomonee Falls WI , Moon Township PA, or Raleigh NC will be considered. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience utilizing best practices in software engineering.

Experience with SAP Project Systems systems and their associated development languages and platforms. Extensive experience developing secure, enterprise grade, highly scalable, highly performant applications and/or distributed systems. Expert level understanding of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts.

Solid understanding of DevSecOps, CI, and CD principles from code check-in through to deployment. Extensive experience with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services. Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as encryption, hashing, certificates, PKIs, Threat Modeling, secure coding, and OWASP.

Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban. Experience working with a cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Proven experience with SAP Project Controlling processes, including cost planning, budgeting, cost collection, settlement, and integration with SAP Controlling and Finance.

Proven experience with SAP Cross-Application Time Sheet, including time capture, approval, transfer processes, and integration with Project Systems and Controlling. Experience participating in or leading SAP implementation, migration, enhancement, or major transformation projects. Experience with integration between SAP Project Systems and related SAP modules such as FI, CO, AA, MM, SD, PM, HCM, or SuccessFactors preferred.

Skills: Soft skills Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain and present technical concepts. Comfortable working directly with both technical and non-technical audiences. Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills.

Ability to work collaboratively on a technical team. Patience and empathy when working with architects, developers, and testers. Experience working with diverse, global cultures, organizations and teams.
