What does a structured finance analyst do?

A Structured Finance Analyst is responsible for analyzing, structuring, and managing complex financial products such as asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, and collateralized debt obligations. They assess the creditworthiness of underlying assets, model cash flows, and help design financial structures that meet the needs of clients and investors. Their work involves risk assessment, financial modeling, and collaborating with other finance professionals to ensure the successful execution of structured finance transactions.

What are some common challenges structured finance analysts face when working on complex transactions?

Structured Finance Analysts often encounter challenges such as managing tight deadlines while analyzing large volumes of data, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, and coordinating input from multiple stakeholders like legal teams, rating agencies, and clients. Balancing these responsibilities requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and effective communication. Staying updated on market trends and regulatory changes is also essential to navigate the complexities of structuring innovative financial solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a structured finance analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Structured Finance Analyst, you need strong analytical abilities, financial modeling expertise, and a solid understanding of capital markets, typically supported by a degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Proficiency with Excel, financial modeling software, and familiarity with Bloomberg or similar market data systems is essential, and certifications like CFA can be advantageous. Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication help analysts present complex data clearly and collaborate across teams. These skills are crucial for accurately structuring financial products, assessing risk, and supporting informed investment decisions in this highly technical and fast-paced field.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

beBright is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst to lead key initiatives across Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Development, and AI-driven reporting and analytics. This cross-functional role delivers models, forecasts, and reporting that executive leadership and our investment partners rely on to make decisions about financial performance, organizational growth, operational efficiency, and emerging technologies.

The ideal candidate works independently, brings structure to ambiguous problems, and partners directly with senior leaders.

This role offers the opportunity to shape strategic growth initiatives โ€” from forecasting and M&A diligence to the design of the organizationโ€™s reporting and AI-enabled analytics โ€” and to influence decisions at the highest level of the company.

WHO WE ARE

At beBright, smiles are the most important part of every day. Founded with the purpose of creating smiles and providing superior dental outcomes through a dual-specialty integrated care model, beBright is a leader in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. Our doctorโ€‘owned and doctorโ€‘led shared services organization provides administrative and operational support to practices nationwide while creating unlimited opportunities for growth and innovation.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field required
  • 5โ€“7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or a related role; experience in a multiโ€‘site healthcare, professional services, or privateโ€‘equityโ€‘backed environment is strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including the ability to build and own complex, multiโ€‘entity models from the ground up
  • Experience with NetSuite, SQL, or data visualization platforms is a plus
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools, automation platforms, or modern reporting technologies to improve analytical workflows
  • Excellent analytical, problemโ€‘solving, and critical thinking skills, with a track record of working independently through ambiguity
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams in a fastโ€‘paced, growthโ€‘oriented environment
  • Highly collaborative with exceptional attention to detail; experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior analysts is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including the consolidated multiโ€‘entity model and the assumptions behind it
  • Design, build, and maintain the financial models and forecasts that drive operational and strategic decisionโ€‘making
  • Analyze financial performance trends and partner with leadership to pressureโ€‘test planning assumptions and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
  • Prepare and present the financial reporting and analysis that executive leadership and investment partners rely on
  • Support business development through market analysis, growth modeling, due diligence, and practice acquisition analysis
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and develop insights that help leaders evaluate new opportunities and operational performance
  • Help define the metrics, KPIs, and dashboards used across the organization, and support the design of automated reporting and business intelligence
  • Serve as a goโ€‘to analytical resource, leading ad hoc analyses for leadership across departments
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan with a 3% Safe Harbor contribution
  • Paid time off, holidays, and sick time
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development, training, and career growth opportunities
  • A highโ€‘visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership and a clear path toward finance leadership

Join us in helping create bright smiles every day while leading the financial, strategic, and technological growth of our organization. Your work will directly shape investment decisions, operational performance, and the analytical foundation that supports beBrightโ€™s next phase of growth.
