What is a structured cabling tech?

Structured Cabling Technicians are professionals who install, maintain, and troubleshoot the cabling infrastructure used for data, voice, and video communications in buildings. Their work ensures that networks and telecommunications systems operate efficiently and can handle current and future technology needs. They work with various types of cables, such as fiber optics and Ethernet, and follow industry standards to organize and label connections properly. Structured Cabling Techs are critical for supporting business operations, especially in environments requiring reliable connectivity, like offices, data centers, and hospitals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a structured cabling tech?
