Job description

Comp-Utility is seeking an entrepreneurial sales leader to drive new business across its product and professional services lines. The Director will be responsible for selling turnkey data center infrastructure solutions, including power and cooling systems, structured cabling, and raised floor installations, leading opportunities from initial customer engagement through RFP response, technical scoping with engineering, and contract award. Post-sale, the Director will remain accountable for each engagement, overseeing implementation in partnership with project delivery teams to drive customer success from contract through commissioning.

As a strategic hire within a growing organization, this individual will report directly to senior Company leadership and partner closely with management to expand existing service offerings and grow Comp-Utility's customer base across data center, healthcare, education, government, financial services, and research end-markets.

Success in this role requires a strong commercial instinct combined with a working understanding of the mission-critical industry, including the labor, materials, and technical standards required to scope deals accurately and deliver on customer expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Sell turnkey data center infrastructure solutions, including power and cooling systems, structured cabling, and raised floor installations, owning each opportunity from initial customer engagement through proposal, RFP response, and contract award.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities across data center, healthcare, technology, education, government, financial services, and research customers; develop account strategies for priority targets.
  • Partner with engineering to translate customer requirements into accurate technical scopes, quotes, and proposals that the delivery team can execute against profitably.
  • Lead the RFP process end-to-end, including qualifying opportunities, coordinating technical and commercial inputs across the organization, and producing complete, competitive responses that protect Company margin.
  • Oversee successful implementation post-sale, serving as the customer's senior point of contact and coordinating with internal project, logistics, and field teams to ensure that scope, schedule, and budget commitments are met.
  • Maintain accountability for deal-level financial performance from sale through delivery.
  • Represent Comp-Utility at industry events, customer site visits, and key vendor meetings to build market presence and source new opportunities.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of business development, technical sales, or account management experience in mission-critical infrastructure, data center, or industrial services.
  • Demonstrated track record of carrying and exceeding a revenue quota.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings well enough to scope opportunities and engage credibly with engineering and customer technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear proposals and commercial terms.
  • Experience managing customer relationships through implementation, with a track record of staying engaged post-sale to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Familiarity with power and cooling equipment widely used across data centers and other mission-critical environments.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment and driving relentless growth.
