Job description

Position Overview

The Field Technician Installer is responsible for skilled infrastructure and structured cabling work, including installations, service, maintenance, and repairs of low voltage systems. This role covers voice, data, AV, security, Wi-Fi, and fiber optic cabling systems. Work may also include structured cabling for wireless networks, full security systems (CCTV, cameras, access control), intercom, paging, A/V systems, and data centers.

This is a 100% travel position, requiring continuous travel to customer sites throughout the project duration.

This position is being offered as a 6-month Project Temporary, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time permanent position based on project needs and individual performance.


Core Responsibilities

  • Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, racks, J-hooks, D-rings).
  • Install, terminate, test, label (per Netgain standards), and document cabling.
  • Dress and route cable into server rooms, modular furniture, and work areas.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and document cabling results.
  • Perform conduit and raceway installations, including conduit bending.
  • Read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Conduct field inspections for quality and compliance.
  • Create and update as-built drawings.
  • Certify cabling using Fluke Versiv Certification tester.
  • Enter time logs and service notes into the management system.
  • Provide training and guidance to crew members as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite organization.
  • Follow and promote all Environmental, Health & Safety policies.
  • Ensure adherence to TIA/EIA standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Additional Duties

  • Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on time.
  • Document processes and procedures for consistency and compliance.
  • Enter all work as service tickets in CRM, maintaining accurate records.
  • Complete assigned training in CRM University and follow daily schedules.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong technical understanding of voice, data, fiber optic systems, and AC/DC circuits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; and willingness to travel 100% of the time.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly.
  • Experience with aerial lifts and safe field practices.
  • Ability to interpret low voltage blueprints and symbols.
  • Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift; and ability to work at heights, of 40 plus feet.
  • Self-motivated, professional, and process improvement-oriented.


Education & Experience

  • BICSI Certification (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in structured cabling.
