Job description

We’re supporting an opportunity for a Data Center Technician within a large‑scale enterprise data center environment. This position is ideal for technicians looking to gain hands-on experience with structured cabling, server installation, and next‑generation networking hardware. You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team responsible for supporting the physical infrastructure that powers global cloud and compute systems.

As a Data Center Technician, you’ll work within one of four core operational pillars:

1. Prep

Preparing hardware, materials, cables, racks, and tools needed for daily installation activities.

2. Laybonding

Running, routing, and securing structured cabling to ensure clean, efficient, standards‑based cable pathways.

3. Rack Receiving

Receiving racks/equipment, unboxing, staging, and preparing devices for installation into the data center floor.

4. Handoff to Network Team

Executing physical installation tasks and ensuring all equipment is ready for network engineering teams to configure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cable vendors to install, inspect, and troubleshoot structured cabling.
  • Install and maintain copper and fiber cabling infrastructure.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.
  • Ensure all cabling and vendor installations meet data center standards and installation best practices.
  • Report work progress and updates through ticketing systems, daily status reports, email, and Slack.
  • Manage and prioritize work using ticket queues to complete customer requests and project tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including change records, labeling, and installation details.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and quality workmanship on all jobs.
  • Work with a partner to move and position enterprise‑grade hardware from loading docks into the data hall.
  • Coordinate and track materials delivered to the site each day.

Role Overview

In this dynamic, hands-on position, you will support the stability and sustainability of next‑generation data center networks. You’ll be involved in launching new server technologies, supporting hardware deployment, and assisting with troubleshooting infrastructure issues. Success in this role requires:

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
