Senior Project Manager

Houston, TX $95,000 - $130,000+ per year | Full-Time

Build Something Bigger Than Projects

At SteelCon, we're not looking for someone to simply manage schedules and emails.

We're looking for a leader who wants to own projects, build customer relationships, solve problems, and help drive the future of one of the fastest-growing structural steel manufacturers in the utility industry.

SteelCon designs, fabricates, and delivers structural steel for electrical substations across North America. Our projects support critical infrastructure that keeps communities, businesses, and industries powered.

As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership from project award through final delivery.

Why Join SteelCon?

Work That Matters

Our projects support utility infrastructure, renewable energy expansion, and electrical grid reliability throughout North America.

Direct Access to Leadership

You won't be buried inside layers of corporate bureaucracy. You'll work directly with executive leadership and have a meaningful voice in how projects are executed.

Growth Opportunity

SteelCon is growing rapidly. As we expand, there will be opportunities for advancement into senior leadership and operational management roles.

Strong Team Environment

You'll work alongside experienced professionals in operations, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and business development who are committed to helping each other succeed.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll serve as the primary leader for your projects after award.

You'll work directly with customers while coordinating internal teams to ensure projects move efficiently from planning through manufacturing and delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Serving as the primary customer contact
  • Leading project kickoff meetings and execution planning
  • Monitoring schedules, commitments, and project milestones
  • Identifying and resolving issues before they impact project performance
  • Coordinating with engineering, operations, procurement, quality, and manufacturing teams
  • Managing project scope changes and customer requests
  • Maintaining strong customer relationships throughout project execution
  • Supporting project profitability and successful project closeout

Most importantly, you'll be expected to think proactively, communicate clearly, and take ownership of project outcomes.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, construction, utility, EPC, or related industries

Preferred

  • Structural steel experience
  • Utility or substation industry experience
  • Manufacturing or fabrication experience
  • Experience managing customer-facing projects
  • ERP software experience

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Takes ownership rather than waiting for direction
  • Builds strong relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Stays organized under pressure
  • Enjoys solving problems
  • Communicates effectively with both customers and internal teams
  • Wants to help build a growing company

We're less concerned with titles and more interested in finding someone who consistently delivers results and takes pride in their work.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation
  • Performance Bonus Opportunities
  • Medical Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays
  • Career Advancement Opportunities

SteelCon Core Values

  • Quality First
  • Safety is Non-Negotiable
  • Accountability & Integrity
  • Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaboration & Teamwork
  • Customer Commitment
  • Innovation & Adaptability

If you're looking for a position where you can make an impact, build relationships, and help shape the future of a growing company, we'd like to talk with you.

Apply today and help build the infrastructure that powers North America.
