MAK Steel Services is seeking an experienced Steel Project Manager to join our leadership team. We specialize in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, ornamental metals, stairs, railings, and complex commercial and industrial projects ranging from $50,000 to over $5 million.

Position Summary

The Steel Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from contract award through final completion. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to coordinate fabrication, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, fabricators, detailers, vendors, and field superintendents.
  • Review contracts, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Manage procurement of materials and subcontractors.
  • Track project costs, billings, and profitability.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and regular progress meetings.
  • Support field crews by resolving project issues and ensuring efficient execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships that lead to repeat business.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Tekla EPM/FabTrol, or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
