With tremendous growth comes exciting opportunity! We are looking to expand our Steel Erection Crew, specializing in pre-engineered metal building erection. We are seeking skilled Pre-Engineered Metal Building Erectors to join our team. As a Steel Metal Building Erector, you will play a crucial role in the construction and assembly of pre-engineered metal buildings across various locations in Minnesota and South Dakota., The steel erector is responsible to raise, place and unite girders, columns and other structural steel members to form completed structures or structure frameworks.
Pre-Engineered Metal Building Erector
Location: Midwest. Primarily Mankato, Minnesota
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 AM-4 PM and as based on operational needs. Occasional Saturdays.
Salary Range: $25-$35 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the erection of pre-engineered metal buildings, including framing, wall panels, and roofing systems
  • Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment at job sites
  • Operate basic hand and power tools (drills, impact guns, saws, etc.)
  • Help align and secure structural components such as beams, columns, and girts
  • Install insulation, trim, and metal sheeting
  • Follow blueprints, drawings, and supervisor instructions
  • Sets up hoisting equipment for raising placing structural-steel members.
  • Installs metal wall sheathing and roof panels.
  • Cuts welds steel members to make alterations, using oxyacetylene welding equipment.
  • Rivets trim and accessory items to the roof and wall panels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site
  • Adhere to all safety policies, including fall protection and PPE requirements

Requirements
  • Desire to learn about steel erection and/or pre-engineered metal buildings.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to and from job sites.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous steel erection experience preferred but willing to train
  • Forklift certification preferred

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required.
Environment
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards.
