This includes the design and review of pump skids, piping skids, equipment supports, pipe supports, seismic restraints, and wind restraint systems for mechanical equipment. The role works closely with internal operations teams, virtual construction, fabrication, and field personnel to ensure designs are practical, constructible, timely, and aligned with project schedules and customer commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and seal structural calculations and details for pump skids, piping skids, and packaged mechanical systems.
  • Engineer pipe support systems including gravity, lateral, seismic, and thermal considerations.
  • Design seismic restraint systems for ductwork, piping, plumbing, and mechanical equipment in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform wind load analysis and design wind restraint systems for rooftop and exterior mechanical equipment.
  • Review delegated design submittals and shop drawings related to structural supports and restraints.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, seismic requirements, wind criteria, and referenced standards (IBC, ASCE 7, SMACNA, MSS, etc.).
  • Provide timely engineering support to operations teams to maintain construction schedules and address field conditions.
