About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Dynamics Engineer to serve as a technical anchor and leader within our engineering organization. In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for machine dynamics, rotordynamics, and structural vibrations, guiding the development process and driving engineering best practices across the department. You will lead design optimization for both rotating and stationary components, coordinate crossโ€‘functional systems integration, and spearhead advanced modal, transient, and rotordynamic analyses to ensure system stability and longevity. This position requires a unique blend of deep analytical expertise in the dynamics of machinery, technical leadership, and a proven track record of managing complex engineering configurations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process & Best Practices Leadership: Manage the overall dynamics and vibration development process and actively establish, document, and drive engineering best practices.
  • Component Design & Support: Contribute to design and optimization activities for complex components and provide analytical support and crossโ€‘functional coordination to other engineering groups regarding vibration mitigation and balance.
  • Advanced Rotordynamics & Vibration Analysis: Support numerical dynamic analysis activities, including critical speed determination, forced response, stable operating margins, and bearing/seal design for highโ€‘speed rotating hardware.
  • Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA): Carry out complex FMEAs and advanced analytical problemโ€‘solving involving aeroelasticity, lowโ€‘cycle fatigue, highโ€‘cycle fatigue, and rotor dynamic response problems.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the organizationโ€™s technical authority on machine dynamics, mechanical vibrations, rotordynamics, and numerical dynamic simulation.
Education & Experience Requirements

Education

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Core Experience

  • Technical Leadership: 15+ years of engineering and technical leadership experience, with a proven track record of coordinating various functional groups and managing systems integration.
  • Dynamics & Machine Lifing: 10+ years of dedicated experience performing structural dynamics, rotordynamics, and vibrationโ€‘related lifetime assessments for static and rotating components, explicitly including resonant response and highโ€‘cycle fatigue.
  • Desirable Asset: Prior experience with Fluidโ€‘Structure Interaction (FSI)/aeroelasticity (such as blade flutter) is highly desirable.
Technical Skill Requirements
  • Core Mechanics: Advanced, deepโ€‘rooted knowledge of the dynamics of machinery, rotordynamics, and mechanical vibrations.
