RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

Project Oversight: Manage detailing projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines, scope, and budgets are met. Understand ISAT’s internal project management software and utilize it to facilitate project completion.

Quotations and Proposals: Collaborate with Sales, Technical Staff, and Estimating to promote ISAT’s VDC Service Group and generate accurate quotations for VDC services in relation to steel fabrication and detailing. Understand external sales strategy and participate in discovery meetings. Communicate pricing, deliverables, and staffing requirements to necessary stakeholders.

Detailing Review: Assist in review of coordination models, steel fabrication and erection drawings to facilitate quality control and assurance throughout the deliverable cycle.

Standards & Compliance: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of contract documents, 2D and 3D deliverables, hardware, engineered solutions, value engineering, relevant building codes (IBC, UFC, CBC), and Steel Detailing Standards of AISC.

Technical Coordination: Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and field personnel to ensure drawing accuracy, constructability, and proper sequencing.

Scheduling & Planning: Develop and manage schedules for detailing deliverables using Smart - sheets or similar tools.

Material Coordination: Coordinate with procurement teams to verify material requirements and delivery timelines.

Change Management: Manage the change order process, including tracking revisions and documenting updates to scope.

Work Package Development: Define work packages and ensure proper alignment with field execution plans.

Communication: Act as the primary contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders regarding steel detailing status and issue resolution.

Documentation: Maintain records of detailing progress, updates, and drawing logs through platforms like BIM360/ACC and Microsoft Office Suite.

Steel Detailing Knowledge: Understand and interpret contract, IFC and engineering documents to create accurate steel models and documentation for IFF approval. Address concerns based on fabrication, shipping, and erection limitations and requirements.

Fabrication Knowledge: Understand industry standards for shop fabrication, field fabrication and installation. Familiarization with OSM (Offsite Manufacturing) techniques, and the ability to optimize and implement solutions to streamline production. Collaborate with ISAT fabrication department to streamline production of all steel deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 5 years plus of experience in steel detailing, fabrication, and erection project management.
  • Strong working knowledge of AISC standards, steel fabrication processes, and erection practices.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Advance Steel, and Navisworks.
  • Experienced with ACC/BIM360, Smart-sheets, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success managing schedules, material ordering, scope alignment, and the change order process.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for internal and external coordination.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced construction environment.
