Job description

Patriot Construction, Inc. is currently looking for a High level PROJECT MANAGER with experience in Federal Contracting for Bay Area Operations. Patriot Construction is a rapidly growing company among the top in federal, government and military construction projects.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The Project Manager delivers small and large scale Federal Construction Projects on time and on budget while keeping in line with quality and safety standards, will develop and direct all activities related to the Projects Life Cycleโ€™s phases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for defining, and controlling the project scope, schedule and costs.

Collaboratively works with clients, internal departments and outside consultants through all phases of the project in negotiation cost-effective subcontracts and material purchases.

Set up and implementation of job procedures and techniques to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval and material delivery.

Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management of cost forecasting and construction progress.

Organize and facilitate regular meetings for management and subcontractors.

Managing multiple projects in various phases of the project life cycle.

The Project Manager will be the single point of contact, and accountable for all aspects of the project.

Requires a high degree of client interaction and professionalism.

Keep project on schedule

Develop and maintain good relationship with Stake Holders, Subcontractors, Owner, and Architect.

Work with Superintendent to develop safety plans and to implement safety procedures.

Manage, train, and supervise project team according to Company policy and Project needs.

Review contract conditions; ensure compliance with all contract terms.

Supervise documentation of all significant project events and take immediate action to respond to problems, e.g. accidents, delays, change orders, etc.

Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions.

Direct preconstruction services and activities.

Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages.

Write, execute contracts, close out, and permits.

Coordinate mobilization trailers, utilities, and file set up.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

DOD / Naval experience.

Medical facilities experience.

B.S. degree in engineering or construction management or 10 years direct experience.

Minimum 5 years experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor engaged in general building construction.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in government contracting.

Demonstrated experience estimating and managing self performed work activities and subcontract work.

The ability to effectively communicate both in the English written and spoken word.

Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and be a solid team player.

A demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation of commercial and institutional buildings and site work related thereto.

A working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical work.

High level of proficiency with spreadsheets, Email and other software used in the construction industry.

Current safety credentials to include OSHA 30 1, 1st Aid and CPR.

Current CQM certification issued by USACE / NAVFAC 1
