Fothย is seeking aย Lead Waterfront/Marine Structural Engineerย to serve as the technical lead and designer on a variety of waterfront and coastal engineering projects. This role involves supporting the planning, engineering, and construction of shoreline protection, stabilization, and marine structures. The successful candidate will perform coastal conditions calculations, structural analysis, and develop construction documents, while also identifying and implementing the latest design technologies.ย  This role can be located inย Green Bay, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Madison, WI; Marion, MA; Newport, RI; Jacksonville, FL; or remoteย for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as technical lead and designer on a variety of coastal, waterfront, and marine infrastructure projects, supporting planning, engineering, and construction efforts
  • Perform coastal condition calculations and structural analyses to develop and review designs for shoreline protection, stabilization systems, and marine/waterfront structures, including projects in contaminated sediment remedial zones
  • Lead the development of construction documents, including plans and specifications, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to establish and manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and quality standards
  • Identify and implement innovative design and engineering technologies, while developing and improving standard work practices for marine and coastal engineering
  • Contribute to Foth's technical excellence by maintaining regulatory knowledge and supporting the development of the firm's technical library in structural and coastal engineering
  • Support business development efforts by preparing and reviewing technical approaches and proposals, partnering with Client Team Leaders to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, effectively communicating complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing, multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and advancing coastal engineering competencies through coaching and professional development
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience in the areas of feasibility, design, and/or construction management
  • Experience with developing construction documents including plans and specifications
  • Professional Engineer License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years with an engineering consulting firm with an emphasis in coastal or environmental engineering or science
  • Previous experience with the following: Integrating complex engineering and environmental sciences on coastal projects, establishing working relationships with regulators, projects on the Great Lakes or in the Midwest
$110,000 - $165,000 a year
The base compensation listed for this job posting reflects a general range for the posted position. ย Base compensation will vary based on factors such as: years of experience, location, level of responsibility and licenses/certifications. In addition to base compensation, Foth members may be eligible to receive bonuses through our Earned Performance Incentive program.
