Senior Structural Engineer
Salary: $120K+

We are currently supporting a well-established engineering consultancy in Abbotsford, BC in their search for a Senior Structural Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a collaborative team delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions across a variety of project types.
Role Overview

The Senior Structural Engineer will take a lead technical role on projects involving reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures. You will oversee design, calculations, and project deliverables while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring work meets engineering standards, codes, and client expectations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-focused consulting environment and enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural design and analysis for commercial, residential, and institutional projects.
  • Prepare drawings, calculations, and specifications in accordance with the BC Building Code and other relevant standards.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, and materials engineering specialists.
  • Conduct site visits as required for design verification and construction support.
  • Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
