Job description

STV's Buildings Division is seeking an Engineer - Structural to join our Philadelphia or Douglassville office. This role is ideal for a structural engineer with 5-10 years of experience who is ready to take on greater technical responsibility, lead design efforts on building and infrastructure projects, and grow within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of structural systems for a diverse portfolio of public and private-sector building projects, including transportation facilities, municipal buildings, federal buildings, healthcare facilities, and commercial developments - working alongside senior engineers, project managers, and architects throughout all phases of project development.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Design structural systems for new construction, renovation, and rehabilitation building projects.
โ€ข Perform structural engineering calculations, analyses, and code compliance reviews.
โ€ข Prepare construction drawings, specifications, structural reports, and supporting documentation.
โ€ข Utilize Revit/AutoCAD, and structural analysis software to support design and coordination.
โ€ข Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and other project disciplines.
โ€ข Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and construction support activities.
โ€ข Review design documents for quality, accuracy, and conformance to applicable codes and standards.
โ€ข Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination efforts.
โ€ข Participate in client and project team meetings as needed.
โ€ข Mentor entry-level engineers and designers while advancing toward project leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution, additionally a Master's Degree is preferred.
โ€ข 5-10 years of structural engineering design experience for commercial, institutional, municipal, transportation, healthcare, higher education, or government facilities.
โ€ข Experience designing structural systems in steel, concrete, masonry, and/or timber.
โ€ข Proficiency with Revit and structural analysis software (e.g., RAM, ETABS, RISA, or similar).
โ€ข Working knowledge of applicable building codes including IBC, AISC, ACI, and ASCE standards.
โ€ข Experience preparing engineering calculations and construction documents.
โ€ข Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
โ€ข EIT certification required; PE license or active pursuit of licensure preferred.
