How you'll contribute 

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role will:  

Be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the ED. 

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. 

Supervise, coordinate, and delegate patient care in a manner which ensures that patient needs are provided in an efficient manner, in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and scope of practice by position. 

Professionalism - Applies knowledge to practice through participation in performance improvement activities and application of nursing research

What we're looking for 

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all care for patients admitted to the ED during his/her shift.  

  • Applicant should have a current VA or compact RN license
  • One year ED experience preferred 
  • BLS required within 30 days of hire, or prior to completion of orientation if 30 days before hire 
  • ACLS and PALS required within 6 months 
  • Advanced Stroke Course preferred
