Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant | Macomb | Neurology/Stroke | Part-Time | Days

Location:Henry Ford Macomb

Status:Part-Time | Days

Call/Weekends:No call requirements, yes weekends

Position Overview:

Henry Ford HealthSystem is seeking apart-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto join ourNeurology/Stroke team. This role focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination of patients with acute and chronic neurologic conditions, serving as a first-line provider to patients and their families in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The NP/PA will provide inpatient and outpatient medical care while working closely with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure high-quality, efficient, and evidence-based patient care. Responsibilities include patient evaluation and management, development of treatment plans, coordination of care, patient education, and performing specialty-specific procedures as indicated by training, experience, and credentialing. This position offers a 24-hour per week schedule with weekday and weekend coverage, no call requirements, and the opportunity to work within a supportive Neurology/Stroke program dedicated to improving patient outcomes across the continuum of neurological care.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of neurology/stroke experience as an APP required

  • NP or PA graduate from an accredited program

  • Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure

  • National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)

  • BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)

Credentials:

Education & Training

· Physician Assistant (PA):Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

· Nurse Practitioner (NP):Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

Licensure

· Current licensureas a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).

Certification

· PA:Certification by theNational Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

· NP:National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan

(e.g., ANCC, AANP)

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)– required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)– required (may be obtained after hire)

DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure

  • PA:DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing

  • NP:DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
