A certified medical assistant to perform routine treadmill stress test with the oversight from a nuclear technologist as well as providers.

Standard Work: Cardiac Exercise Stress Test Technician
  • Calls to confirm stress test appointments and provides test instructions to the patient/caregiver.
  • Ensures authorizations have been obtained for the testing for the following day.
  • Explains procedure to patient prior to testing.
  • Assists in gathering patient assessment data for physician review.
  • Assures adequate equipment and supplies for testing.
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • Assists in monitoring patient EKG and vital signs during stress test and recovery period.
  • Assists in initiating emergency measures as required
  • Maintains and cleans equipment
Competencies & Skills
Essential:
  • Active job on your feet a lot working with patients performing treadmill stress test with patients.
  • Preferred Monitor tech experience or CMA.
  • High school diploma with at least 3-5 years' experience in a cardiac area of specialty.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
  • High School or Equivalent
