CVICU RN โ€“ Job Summary

Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) โ€“ 10-bed unit

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced CVICU RN with recent Open Heart Recovery experience. Candidates must be able to independently care for immediate post-operative open-heart patients from day one. This role is in a 36-bed hospital with expanding cardiac services, requiring strong critical care skills and the ability to manage high-acuity patients.

Requirements
  • Recent Open Heart Recovery experience (required).
  • Recent Critical Care/CVICU experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Montana RN License.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
  • Strong experience with advanced critical care equipment and invasive monitoring.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized care for immediate post-operative open-heart patients. Monitor and manage critically ill cardiovascular patients. Care for patients with conditions including:Post-PCI recovery Pacemakers Revascularization procedures Carotid endarterectomy Thoracotomy CHF, COPD DKA Renal failure DVT/PE Sepsis General medical and surgical patients Operate and manage advanced critical care equipment, including:Arterial (A) lines Central venous lines Chest tubes Nasogastric tubes Multiple IV pumps Continuous bladder irrigation Non-invasive and invasive ventilator support Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and basic EKG interpretation. Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge. Serve as a clinical resource and assist with precepting staff.
