OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Strategic Project Manager to join our growing organization. This role sits at the intersection of eCommerce, IT, and customer enablement, leading technology-driven initiatives that support digital growth and operational effectiveness.
The Strategic Project Manager will lead cross-functional projects across business and technology teams, with a focus on eCommerce platforms, systems integrations, and digital customer experiences. This role also serves as the lead project manager for the technical onboarding of large, complex customers, requiring coordinated execution across multiple teams and systems.
This individual will play a critical role in shaping and maturing our project management practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a developing environment, can bring structure to ambiguity, and is capable of guiding leadership toward best practices in project delivery and governance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT-led and eCommerce-adjacent strategic initiatives, from intake through implementation, go-live, and post-launch support
  • Own project planning activities including charters, scope definition, timelines, resource coordination, and success metrics
  • Proactively identify project risks, dependencies, and constraints; develop and execute mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide clear, consistent project communications and updates with stakeholders and executive-level status reporting across the business and IT

Technical Onboarding & Key Account Enablement
  • Act as Lead Project Manager for technical onboarding of large, complex customers, ensuring a structured and predictable onboarding experience
  • Coordinate all technical onboarding activities across IT, business, and the customer
  • Manage customer-specific technical workstreams including integrations (EDI, API, data feeds), platform configuration, and process alignment
  • Ensure customer requirements are well-documented, prioritized, and translated into executable technical and operational plans
  • Serve as a trusted internal and external point of coordination to drive successful onboarding outcomes and long-term scalability
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment and accountability

Program Development & Process Maturity
  • Help define, implement, and mature project and program management frameworks, tools, and delivery standards
  • Introduce best practices in project governance, documentation, intake prioritization, reporting and post-project review
  • Partner with leadership to establish clarity around "what good looks like" for project execution and program maturity
  • Drive continuous improvement across project workflows, cross-functional collaboration, and delivery predictability

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-5 years of experience leading cross-functional, technology-driven projects, preferably in environments involving IT, systems integrations, or digital platforms
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects that involve multiple internal teams and external partners
  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through delivery, including scope definition, timeline management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication
  • Strong working knowledge of systems integrations (e.g., APIs, EDI, data feeds) and how technology supports business workflows
  • Experience translating business and customer requirements into clear, actionable technical and project plans
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving organization

Preferred Experience
  • Experience within foodservice distribution, equipment, manufacturing, logistics, design/build, or B2B environments
  • Hands-on experience serving as the lead PM for customer-facing or client onboarding initiatives, particularly with large or complex accounts
  • Exposure to ERP systems, WMS, PIM, CRM, or related enterprise platforms commonly used in distribution and operations
  • Proficient with project management tools and documentation standards (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, MS Project, Confluence, or similar)
  • Experience partnering closely with IT, engineering, and infrastructure teams while reporting into or supporting a business function
  • Familiarity with scaling and formalizing project management frameworks in small-to-mid-sized organizations
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PgMP, Scrum Master, or similar)
  • Experience managing competing priorities across business growth initiatives, technical capacity, and customer commitments
