Job Description

The Project Manager - Strategic Initiatives leads the implementation and launch of new business opportunities and operating partnerships across Rally House. Projects may include assuming operation of college bookstores, launching retail within collegiate athletic venues, and other partnership-driven growth initiatives.

This position serves as the central point of coordination from project kickoff through launch and stabilization, aligning internal teams and external partners to ensure operational requirements are completed on time. This team member brings structure to new opportunities and takes ownership of turning business concepts into successful operating realities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new business and partnership projects from kickoff through launch and stabilization
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables
  • Serve as the primary project liaison between Rally House teams, institutional partners, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Lead implementation of college bookstore operations, collegiate athletic venue retail, and other partnership-driven concepts
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams including Operations, Merchandising, Inventory, IT, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Store Development, and Loss Prevention
  • Translate partnership requirements into actionable operational plans and launch priorities
  • Coordinate site, inventory, technology, equipment, signage, supplies, and other operational readiness requirements
  • Manage launch readiness around fixed opening dates, athletic seasons, events, and partner commitments
  • Track project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and drive timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain clear communication and visibility to project status, decisions, responsibilities, and upcoming milestones
  • Provide on-site leadership during transitions, launches, and major events as needed
  • Lead post-launch stabilization and transition ongoing ownership to the appropriate operational team
  • Manage multiple strategic projects simultaneously based on business priorities and timelines
  • Support additional strategic growth initiatives and special projects as assigned

Skills and Knowledge

Ability to manage multiple priorities and fixed deadlines in a fast-paced environment, Comfortable working through ambiguity and evolving project requirements, Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence without direct authority, Strong project planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Project Management, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of project management, retail operations, implementation, or related experience preferred
  • Experience launching new locations, partnerships, or business initiatives preferred
  • Retail, collegiate retail, venue operations, or multi-unit experience preferred
  • Ability to travel and work outside traditional business hours as needed for launches and events

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment
  • Able to clearly view and read information on a computer screen
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds

Location and Travel Requirements

  • On-site in Lenexa, KS
  • Must be able to travel and work outside traditional business hours as needed for launches and events

Pay Range

$80,000.00 - $95,000.00
