Job description

Build technologies that strengthen Canada's future.

CSMC is developing next-generation technologies at the intersection of defence, nuclear energy, aerospace, and sovereign capabilities. From microreactors for Arctic and military applications to advanced dual-use technologies, we're tackling some of the most important challenges facing Canada and its allies.

We're looking for exceptional students who want more than another internship.

You'll work directly with the CEO, CFO, COO, and senior leadership team on company-critical initiatives spanning strategy, operations, fundraising, business development, government contracts, AI implementation, and growth.

This is a high-impact role designed for ambitious builders who want exposure normally reserved for consultants, investment bankers, venture capital associates, and startup operators years into their careers.

What You'll Do

  • Drive strategic projects alongside company leadership
  • Build and manage CRM systems for investors, customers, partners, and opportunities
  • Create executive dashboards, management tools, and reporting systems
  • Support company-wide AI adoption and workflow automation initiatives
  • Build market intelligence databases covering competitors, technologies, funding, and procurement opportunities
  • Identify and track new customer, partnership, and business development opportunities
  • Support customer discovery and strategic outreach initiatives
  • Assist with fundraising, investor relations, and capital raise activities
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and strategic analyses
  • Coordinate project management activities across technical and business teams
  • Support government, defence, and commercial proposal submissions (RFPs, RFQs, grants, contracts)
  • Create executive presentations, investor decks, and board materials
  • Produce high-quality research, writing, and communications content

Who Should Apply

We're looking for students in the top of their cohort who are motivated by building meaningful technology and creating real-world impact.

Ideal candidates are:

  • 3rd or 4th year undergraduate students, MBA candidates, or graduate students
  • Strong analytical thinkers with exceptional communication skills
  • Advanced in PowerPoint, Excel, and structured problem-solving
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
  • Naturally curious, entrepreneurial, and driven to own outcomes

Highly valued experience:

  • Consulting
  • Investment banking
  • Venture capital
  • Private equity
  • Strategy
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Deep-tech startups
  • Experience in defence, aerospace, nuclear, energy, or government sectors is a plus but not required.

Why CSMC?

  • Work directly with executive leadership
  • Build skills years ahead of your peers
  • Contribute to nationally significant defence, energy, and space initiatives
  • Gain exposure to fundraising, government contracting, strategy, and company-building
  • Join one of Canada's fastest-growing deep-tech companies

If you're looking for a résumé line, this isn't the role. If you want to help build technologies that matter while accelerating your career faster than almost anywhere else in Canada, we'd like to hear from you.

Location: Waterloo
Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Canada and capable of obtaining security clearances required for work in defence, nuclear, and advanced technology sectors.
