Job description

Summary
The goal of the Strategic Advisory team is to provide management and strategy consulting services with internal resources who have aligned incentives. This role is responsible for providing advanced quantitative analysis capabilities for multiple engagements across the team and ensuring delivery standards are met. This role is also responsible for analyzing corporate-wide data to identify strategic opportunities across Northwestern Mutual.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish strategic and analytical frameworks for the Strategic Advisory function

  • Work hands-on with Strategic Advisory team members to implement data-driven approaches

  • Ensure consistency in delivery across projects

  • Lead analysis of processes and operating models across Northwestern Mutual to identify top priorities for Strategic Advisory work

  • Partner with client leadership to identify opportunities and scope engagements

  • Provide guidance and advice to prioritize top opportunities in different business functions based on value and impact

  • Provide guidance and advice for stakeholders to help translate OKR and API targets into actionable, strategic roadmaps

  • Coordinates requests for information from stakeholders and prepares reports and presentations in response.

  • Exhibits expert level and business acumen to solve unique, complex problems across multiple functions with a broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.

  • Participates in regular department / function leadership meetings to ensure delivery and execution is aligned with Strategic Advisory function

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years business leadership and/or consulting experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of people management experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership in a data role or organization

  • Proven leadership skills working with diverse teams.

  • Superior management, human relations, and interpersonal skills to lead groups of people.

  • Strong organizational skills; able to handle competing demands, and work under tight deadlines and short timeframes.

  • Demonstrated organizational agility to work across organizational boundaries, influence, and collaborate with all levels on solutions that benefit the organization.

  • Proven skills in dealing with ambiguity and paradox, and leading change.

  • Facilitation and team building skills; ability to play an active, operational and communicative role.
