Strategy Implementation information

What is strategy implementation?

Strategy implementation is the process of turning strategic plans into actionable steps to achieve an organization's goals. It involves allocating resources, creating timelines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress to ensure that the strategic objectives are met. Effective strategy implementation requires communication across all levels of an organization, proper leadership, and the flexibility to adapt to challenges that arise. It bridges the gap between planning and execution, ensuring that strategies are not just created but are actually put into practice and deliver results.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in strategy implementation, and why are they important?

To thrive in Strategy Implementation, you need strong analytical thinking, project management expertise, and a solid understanding of business operations, often supported by a relevant degree in business or management. Familiarity with tools such as project management software (e.g., Asana, Microsoft Project), data analysis platforms, and certifications like PMP or Six Sigma is highly beneficial. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and adaptability distinguish top performers in this role. These skills are crucial for effectively translating strategic plans into actionable initiatives and ensuring organizational goals are achieved.

What is the difference between Strategy Implementation vs Business Analyst?

Strategy Implementation focuses on executing strategic plans across an organization, ensuring goals are met through project management and leadership. Business Analysts analyze business needs and recommend solutions, often working closely with Strategy Implementation teams. While both roles require analytical skills, Strategy Implementation emphasizes execution and leadership, whereas Business Analysts focus on analysis and requirements gathering.

How does a strategy implementation professional typically collaborate with other departments to ensure successful execution of organizational goals?

Strategy Implementation professionals work closely with leaders and teams across departments—such as finance, operations, marketing, and HR—to translate high-level strategies into actionable plans. They facilitate cross-functional meetings, align resources, and monitor progress to address potential barriers early. Strong communication and project management skills are essential, as the role often involves clarifying objectives, resolving conflicts, and ensuring that all stakeholders are moving in the same direction. This collaborative approach not only drives results but also fosters a unified organizational effort toward strategic goals.

What you'll be doing...
As an AI Strategy & Implementation Lead, you will architect, prioritize, and execute a high-volume pipeline of AI initiatives, autonomous workflows, and agentic solutions across Integrated Marketing and Marketing Operations.
Operating as a rare "builder-consultant" hybrid, you will translate complex marketing challenges into secure, scalable AI assets. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and hands-on execution, driving enterprise-scale productivity through next-generation AI automation.
  • Process Discovery & Value Mapping: Proactively embed within integrated marketing teams to shadow creative, media, and campaign workstreams. Map their operational pipelines, identify manual bottlenecks, and independently surface high-value opportunities for AI intervention.
  • Asset Development: Design, build, and deploy custom Gems, multi-agent orchestrations, and secure RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) workflows.
  • Platform & Governance: Serve as the resident expert on Google's AI suite (Gemini, Vertex AI, Workspace Studio) while enforcing prompt engineering standards, data privacy, and ethical guardrails.
  • Scale & SOPs: Identify high-potential, localized workflows and scale them into repeatable, enterprise-wide Deployable Assets and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

What we're looking for...
We are seeking a rare "Builder-Consultant" hybrid who possesses the business acumen to advise senior marketing leadership and the technical competency to independently build prompt logic, write code, and configure APIs. You act as a seamless translation layer between the marketing suite and technical systems. You don't wait for a marketer to hand you a technical requirement document; instead, your baseline marketing knowledge allows you to listen to a campaign challenge or a pipeline delay and instinctively deduce the prompt logic, RAG architecture, or automation workflow needed to solve it. Crucially, you are an innate, relentless problem solver who looks past AI hype to design efficient, secure, stable systems focused entirely on delivering measurable business ROI and process efficiency.
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience in marketing operations, management consulting, or tech implementation.
  • MarTech & Process Optimization Experience: Proven experience mapping integrated marketing pipelines, asset lifecycles, or campaign production workflows. You possess a strong working knowledge of how modern marketing moves from brief to execution, enabling you to pinpoint friction points natively.
  • Advanced Google AI Proficiency: Hands-on experience developing within Google's enterprise ecosystem (Gemini Advanced, Vertex AI, NotebookLM) alongside deep structural understanding of prompt logic, RAG, and autonomous agent tool-use.
  • Core Technical Competencies: Practical coding experience with Google Apps Script, Python, or building API integrations to dynamically connect Large Language Models (LLMs) to external data streams.
  • ROI & Problem-Solving Mindset: A proven track record of independently troubleshooting technical logic/data failures and translating builds into measurable business results (e.g., hours optimized, throughput increase).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Experience managing high-volume innovation pipelines or scaling digital transformation trackers within a Fortune 20 enterprise framework.
  • Strong background in data/analysis optimization, including data cleaning, sheet automation, vector database understanding, and large dataset trend analysis.
  • Proven track record of developing custom multi-agent frameworks, automated workflow templates, or detailed technical enablement documentation.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the capability to translate complex technical AI application logic clearly into high-level business strategy for non-technical business partners.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.
Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
