Who we're looking for

Toyota Financial Services' Service Operations Functional Strategy Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivatedVPP Functional Strategy Manager.

The primary responsibility of this role is to partner with functional leaders across Toyota Financial Services and private label brands to shape strategic roadmaps, prioritize the right work, and turn big-picture goals into clear, measurable execution plans.

Reporting to theSenior Manager, Functional Strategy, this person will support the department's objective to strengthen operational effectiveness, elevate the customer experience, and drive coordinated transformation across the organization.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll be at the center of strategy development and execution, connecting leaders, teams, and priorities to help the business move faster and more effectively. Your day-to-day will blend strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on problem solving as you help shape initiatives that improve Voluntary Protection Product (VPP) outcomes.

  • Develop a clear strategic framework that improves operational efficiency and supports digital self-service and other effectiveness initiatives.

  • Lead program planning and analysis for VPP functional strategies, ensuring priorities, milestones, timelines, and expected outcomes are clearly defined and tracked.

  • Partner across departments to create seamless experiences from the start of a customer relationship through the end of the term or agreement.

  • Bring thought leadership and subject matter expertise to strategy discussions, effectiveness measurement, journey mapping, and multi-channel support approaches.

  • Collaborate with peers and business partners to reduce customer and dealer effort while advancing transformation goals.

  • Coach, develop, and support team members to build capability, strengthen performance, and grow future leaders.

  • Translate strategy into action by leading implementation, monitoring progress, and measuring outcomes that matter.

  • Stay informed on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in automotive protection products and financial services servicing.

  • Lead communication and change management efforts that help teams align, adapt, and adopt new ways of working.

  • Support high-priority operational or compliance matters, including short-term remediation and improvement efforts when needed.

  • Build bench strength by sharing knowledge and helping identify future talent within the team and across Service Operations and VPP organizations.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in automotive or insurance industries

  • Leadership experience, including organizational leadership, stakeholder influence, cross-functional alignment, and project execution.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with a broad range of internal and external partners and work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals.

  • Experience managing projects successfully to meet deadlines, provide deliverables, and adhere to budgets.

  • Strong ability to apply lessons learned from past experiences and work through complex changes/situations in a consistently evolving work environment.

  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate priorities and build alignment across diverse partners.

  • Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and support thoughtful decision-making.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

  • Ability to travel up to 5% as business needs require
