The purpose of this position is to improve business and operating results by providing technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of CQuence Health and its managed companies information technology initiatives. The Vice President , Data Strategy and Technology will lead CQuence Health and its managed companies in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralized business operations, achieve more effective and cost-beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations, and drive strategic growth through data, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. As a member of the Executive Management team, performance includes demonstration of leadership, competence, collaboration, innovation, communication, and mentoring.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Technology Leadership

Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, implementation, and coordination of information and technology systems for CQuence.

Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year technology vision and roadmap aligned with the business objectives of CQuence.

Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Management team on technology-driven opportunities, risks, and investments.

Support and participate in the Strategic Planning process, providing technology perspective and digital growth strategies.

Evaluate new equipment, software, platforms, and emerging technologies continuously; recommend changes as appropriate and supervise their implementation.

Meet with other members of the executive team to discuss issues and establish company policy. As an officer of the company, provide leadership and vision in service of fulfilling the company mission.

Data Strategy & Artificial Intelligence

Build and mature the enterprise data strategy including governance, architecture, quality standards, and organizational data ownership models.

Lead the evaluation, deployment, and governance of AI and machine learning initiatives in production business contexts, including Generative AI strategy and responsible AI frameworks.

Establish data analytics capabilities that move the organization from basic reporting to actionable insight extraction, enabling data-driven decision making across all business units.

Develop and maintain AI risk management protocols, vendor evaluation criteria, and ethical AI use policies.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Own and direct the cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the organization maintains a strong security posture aligned with industry frameworks.

Oversee risk assessment, incident response planning, and regulatory compliance across all technology operations.

Oversee and evaluate system security and backup procedures; manage disaster recovery planning and business continuity to protect organizational assets and ensure operational resilience.

Lead cybersecurity awareness training and foster a culture of security consciousness throughout the organization.

IT Operations & Infrastructure

Provide employees with quality, consistently available computer service, support, training, and maintenance of all computer systems used throughout CQuence Health and its managed companies.

Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of all computer and communication hardware, software, networking, cloud platforms, and all other products and supplies necessary to keep systems operational.

Oversee implementations, enhancements, and upgrades to software, hardware, network, and telecom systems.

Act as liaison between hardware and software suppliers and corporate management for informational updates and problem resolution.

Maintain and enforce written policies and procedures regarding all computer operations related to IT and throughout CQuence Health and its managed companies.

Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations to optimize technology investments and ensure performance accountability.

Strategic Guidance & Portfolio Company Advisory

Serve as a trusted executive advisor and consultant to CQuence portfolio companies on technology strategy, digital transformation, data and AI initiatives, cybersecurity posture, and IT operationsreflecting CQuences identity as a professional services firm in which every executive provides consulting within their area of expertise.

Engage directly with portfolio company leadership to understand their organizational challenges, assess technology needs, and connect them with appropriate solutions, vendors, frameworks, and internal CQuence resources.

Participate in portfolio company discovery conversations, solution design sessions, and strategic planning engagements; translate technology capabilities into actionable business outcomes for portfolio organizations.

Assist in operational and technology-related issues within portfolio organizations and provide practical, implementation-ready recommendations that draw on cross-industry best practices and lessons learned across the CQuence portfolio.

Leverage and share enterprise knowledgeacross data, AI, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and vendor ecosystemsto accelerate portfolio company maturity and reduce duplicative investment.

Build and maintain trusted advisory relationships with portfolio company executives, IT leadership, and key stakeholders, serving as a consistent point of contact for technology guidance.

Contribute to CQuences consulting and strategic guidance service offerings, including thought leadership, advisory frameworks, and playbooks that can be deployed across the portfolio.

Collaborate with other CQuence executives to deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary advisory engagements that address the full range of portfolio company needs.

Organizational Leadership

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, assigning work, disciplining, and appraising performance of those supervised by the position.

Build high-performing, cross-functional technology teams and foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and professional development.

Collaborate with CQuence, Cassling and portfolio company leaders serving as a resource in the areas of technology strategy, digital innovation, data analytics, and cybersecurity.

Participate in professional societies and activities related to the healthcare technology industry.

Exhibit ethical, objective business relationships in which the best interests of CQuence Health and its customers are maintained. Any influences that would jeopardize this responsibility should be reviewed with the supervisor.

Must be willing to provide the following information to hospitals upon request: immunization records, drug screening, background check, training record.

Required to remain drug free and abide by the Drug Free Workplace Policy.

As an integral part of all CQuence business functions, interacts with employees, customers, and vendors as part of a team to assist with and facilitate the delivery of quality service, and helps create a work environment conducive to solving problems.

Comprehend complex, technical subjects and translate language to lay audiences.

Familiarity with cloud platforms, desktop, notebook, server hardware, local and wide area network design, implementation, and operation.

Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Education & Experience

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related field required. Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or related) strongly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 1015 years of progressive technology leadership experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of information systems and information technology. At least 5 years at the VP or executive level preferred. Direct management of a major IT operation preferred. Direct leadership experience in a minimum of two of the following: enterprise data strategy, AI/ML deployment, cybersecurity governance, or digital product/platform leadership. Significant experience with healthcare settings preferred. Experience should also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems in a multi-site environment.
