What is strategic risk solutions?

Strategic Risk Solutions refers to specialized services or firms that help organizations identify, assess, and manage risks that could impact their long-term goals and performance. These solutions involve analyzing potential threats, developing risk management strategies, and implementing controls to minimize negative impacts. Professionals in this field work with businesses to create tailored risk frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance decision-making. Their expertise covers areas such as financial risk, operational risk, compliance, and emerging risks like cybersecurity. By leveraging strategic risk solutions, organizations can protect assets, improve resilience, and seize new opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a strategic risk solutions consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Strategic Risk Solutions Consultant, you need expertise in risk management, analytical skills, and a relevant degree such as finance, business, or risk management. Familiarity with risk assessment tools, regulatory compliance platforms, and industry certifications like CRM or FRM are highly valuable. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help distinguish top performers in this field. These competencies ensure effective identification and mitigation of risks, enabling organizations to achieve their strategic objectives securely.

Staying current with industry regulations and fostering continuous learning are essential for success. Additionally, building strong relationships with teams across the organization and using clear, data-driven communication strategies can help bridge knowledge gaps and ensure risk processes are understood and adopted effectively.

Job description

About Legacy Risk Solutions
Legacy Risk Solutions is a leading independent insurance agency platform headquartered in Gainesville, Georgia. Through its growing network of agency partners across the Southeast, Legacy provides commercial insurance, employee benefits, personal insurance, and risk management solutions to businesses and individuals. Built on a people-first culture rooted in integrity, growth, and partnership, Legacy combines local expertise with the strength and resources of a larger organization to deliver exceptional service and long-term success for clients, employees, and agency partners.
Position Summary
Legacy Risk Solutions is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Personal Lines Re-Marketing Specialist to join our growing team. This role is focused on supporting client retention by identifying and remarketing existing personal lines accounts when current coverage, pricing, or carrier placement is no longer competitive or appropriate.
Working closely with Personal Lines Account Managers and carrier partners, the Re-Marketing Specialist shops eligible accounts across available markets, evaluates coverage and pricing options, and provides clear recommendations to help retain clients while maintaining appropriate coverage.
The ideal candidate has strong personal lines insurance knowledge, understands carrier appetites and underwriting guidelines, and is comfortable comparing multiple coverage options while managing a high volume of renewal activity. This role is an important resource to the Personal Lines service team and helps Account Managers remain focused on client relationships and overall account management.
What You'll Do
• Partner with Personal Lines Account Managers to identify renewal accounts that may benefit from remarketing due to premium increases, carrier changes, underwriting concerns, coverage needs, or other retention risks.
• Review existing policies and account information to understand current coverage, limits, deductibles, exposures, and client needs before remarketing.
• Gather and verify the information necessary to obtain accurate replacement quotes.
• Market personal lines accounts to appropriate carrier partners based on risk characteristics, underwriting guidelines, and carrier appetite.
• Obtain and compare quotes for homeowners, personal auto, umbrella, flood, dwelling fire, recreational vehicles, watercraft, and other personal lines products as applicable.
• Analyze carrier proposals for premium, coverage, limits, deductibles, endorsements, exclusions, and underwriting requirements.
• Identify meaningful differences between the existing program and alternative coverage options to ensure recommendations maintain appropriate protection for the client.
• Prepare clear quote comparisons and recommendations for Account Managers to review and present to clients.
• Communicate coverage differences, underwriting considerations, and carrier requirements to Account Managers.
• Coordinate with Account Managers and carrier partners to facilitate the timely placement and binding of replacement coverage when a client elects to move carriers.
• Ensure required applications, documentation, signatures, and underwriting information are completed accurately and within required timelines.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of remarketing activity within the agency management system.
• Track remarketing activity, outcomes, and retention results to support department reporting and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier representatives and underwriters to stay informed of carrier appetites, underwriting changes, product offerings, and market conditions.
• Participate in carrier training, webinars, and continuing education to remain current on personal lines products and market trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve remarketing workflows, turnaround times, carrier utilization, and overall retention strategies.
• Provide responsive and timely internal service to Account Managers and other team members.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of personal lines insurance experience, preferably within an independent insurance agency.
• Experience quoting, marketing, or remarketing personal lines accounts across multiple carriers strongly preferred.
• Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license preferred or the ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.
• Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products, including homeowners, personal auto, umbrella, flood, and other common personal insurance coverages.
• Strong understanding of carrier underwriting guidelines, appetites, eligibility requirements, and rating considerations.
• Ability to analyze and compare insurance policies and quotes while identifying meaningful differences in coverage, pricing, deductibles, and exclusions.
• Experience working with Applied Epic or a similar agency management system preferred.
• Experience with carrier portals and comparative rating systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and renewal deadlines simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Account Managers, Producers, underwriters, and carrier partners.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to providing exceptional internal service and supporting client retention.
Benefits
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) with company match
• Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
• Life insurance coverage
• Short-term and long-term disability coverage
• Accident and critical illness insurance options
• Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)
