Hexcel is currently seeking a Projects Manager for our Decatur, AL location. The Decatur site is a key manufacturing location within Hexcel and is entering an exciting phase of growth and investment. This role provides the opportunity to lead high-impact capital projects that directly support site expansion, increased production capacity, and long-term business objectives. Rather than maintaining existing operations, this individual will have the ability to shape the future of the site through strategic investments and infrastructure improvements.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Play a key leadership role in the Decatur site's continued expansion by identifying, planning, and executing capital investments that support increased production capacity, operational excellence, and long-term strategic growth.

  • Manage project scope, cost estimates, capital requests, schedules, resources, procurement activities, and contractor/vendor relationships.
  • Partner with operations, technical teams, and key stakeholders to execute projects that improve site processes, equipment, infrastructure, and operational performance.
  • Provide technical leadership by developing specifications, reviewing engineering designs and drawings, troubleshooting issues, and supporting equipment installation and startup activities.
  • Communicate project status to leadership, manage the site capital budget, and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to drive meaningful change.
  • Gain broad exposure across project management, process improvement, equipment installation, and operational strategy.
  • Influence major investment decisions and help shape the site's long-term roadmap.
  • Join a facility that is actively investing in its people, technology, infrastructure, and future growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering (or other similar engineering degree) and a minimum of 8 years of engineering, project management, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Proven experience managing capital projects and leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge across engineering disciplines, including experience interpreting engineering and construction drawings and performing technical problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • PMP certification (or willingness to pursue certification), Six Sigma experience, and knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOP/FMEA, and process engineering principles preferred. Travel as required.

Eligible candidates must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum. Hexcel (NYSE: HXL) is a global leader in advanced composites technology, a leading producer of carbon fiber, and the world leader in honeycomb manufacturing for the commercial aerospace industry.
