Caterpillar is seeking an experienced Project/Program Manager to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives for customer and dealer-facing Connectivity Solutions within Cat Technology. This role will drive the development and deployment of connected technologies including cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, telematics, and other next-generation connectivity platforms.

The Project Manager will work closely with engineering, business, product, and digital teams to develop functional requirements derived from customer, dealer, business, and regulatory inputs. This individual will provide leadership for cross-functional teams, manage program execution, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery of connectivity solutions that support Caterpillar's digital transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for connectivity and telematics solutions.
  • Gather and translate customer, dealer, business, and regulatory requirements into product and system requirements.
  • Drive cross-functional program execution across engineering, product, digital, and business teams.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, risk mitigation strategies, and execution roadmaps.
  • Coordinate stakeholder communications and present program updates to leadership.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and enterprise technical leaders to evaluate and implement emerging technologies.
  • Ensure alignment between marketing, system, hardware, and software requirements.
  • Support technology roadmap development and long-term connectivity strategy initiatives.
  • Drive delivery of complex engineering programs while maintaining quality, cost, and timing targets.
  • Engage with global teams across North America and India to support successful program execution.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • PMP or PMI certification preferred.
  • Master's degree candidates must still possess 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Associate degrees are not accepted

Experience

  • 10+ years of project, program, or engineering leadership experience.
  • Prior experience leading large-scale engineering development or NPI programs.
  • Experience in project management, program leadership, or project lead roles.

  • Familiarity with IoT regulations, standards, and regional compliance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at the Director and VP stakeholder level.
  • Caterpillar, Deere, Komatsu, CNH, OEM, or heavy equipment experience.
  • Connectivity, telematics, IoT, wireless technology, or autonomous systems background.
  • PMP certification.
