Job description

Program Sales Engineer- Onsite

Are you highly organized with exceptional skills in prospecting for new business? Do you want a piece of action in a high-profile position as the Company’s primary contact for developing new and managing existing accounts in a collaborative team setting?


Clampco has a new opportunity to expand its sales department footprint. The talented individual will support existing and future critical OEM clamping components. The candidate would be responsible for the management of specific Clampco legacy accounts and the development of new business for OEM applications. This role reports to the Sales Manager and has significant interaction with technical sales and engineering peers.

Main requirements:

Individuals can perform the following essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Execute strategy for new business sales activities with Targeted Customer Accounts.
  • Prepare/provide customer bid package along with specific quotation forms and related APQP documentation.
  • Responsible for all project related activities from quote stage to production launch through collaboration from Program Manager/Engineering/Quality as required.
  • a) Knowledge of costing, AIAG standard template APQP/Quality/Packaging forms.
  • b) Ability to manage and foresee Technical/Product Configuration issues in early quote stages of program
  • c) Provide product technical support to our customers and ability to suggest configuration improvements to improve production function, manufacturability, and / or cost.
  • d) Establish and manage customer programs to a timeline.
  • e) Lead APQP program launch meetings with Clampco Team and manage the project internally through the production pre-launch process.
  • Prepare product cost estimates using Clampco estimating software and pricing strategies, and exercise sound business judgment to enhance margins.
  • Conduct meetings and provide technical data to meet customer needs.
  • Periodic travel is required to support various Sales and Marketing activities, including Trade Shows
  • Exhibit keen ability to listen and communicate with customers that add value to the relationship with trust
  • Understand and be proficient in the use of Clampco CRM and Estimating software
  • Determine if a non-standard (application critical) clamp product or not for customer specification
  • Comply with all AS9100/ISO and EHS standards as established and required

Qualifications:
  • 5 years Sales/Program Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong sales skills - prospecting, listening, qualifying, closing, contract negotiating.
  • Proven track record of value selling with account management responsibilities. Must be able to build customer relationships that will stand the test of time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field related; certifications ASQ, QE etc. a plus
  • Technical education/degree, or equivalent experience in an OEM/Tiered manufacturing environment considered
  • Confident/Focused top performer with attitude for learning and change for continuous improvement
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Office, etc.)
  • Representative at company at Trade Shows and site visits
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO and EHS basics
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, ITAR requirement must be met.
