Job description

The Department of Strategic Communication is creating a pool of qualified candidates for part-time lecturer positions for openings during the 2026-2027 academic year. Possible areas may include but are not limited to courses in: Public Relations, Event Management, Advertising, Media Planning, Visualization/Graphic Design, International Communications, and Research Methods.

Terminal degree (Ph.D., M.F.A., or M.B.A.) or nonterminal master's degree preferred. Applicants with an undergraduate degree in a public relations or advertising-related area of strategic communication and substantial industry experience may also be considered. We prioritize candidates who have a record of successful college teaching and who share our commitment to professional preparation within the context of an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education. A wide variety of specialties will be considered including, but not limited to, strategic planning, account management, event/experiential marketing, art direction/graphic design, and audience/media research.

Part-time or adjunct bargaining unit employees are all part-time faculty employed by Ithaca College at its Ithaca, New York campus including but not limited to faculty in the titles of Lecturer or Adjunct.

Hiring rate: $2,059.25 per credit hour.
