Business Development Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Outside Sales
SUPERVISOR: General Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None.
Position Summary
As a Business Development Manager, you will support and grow our business in the US focusing on Aerospace & Defense (A&D). Position responsibilities include all aspects of business development including generating revenue through new opportunities within our current customer base as well as additional new accounts. Candidate must have at least 10+ years of success selling electrical components, systems, and or assembly into various industries (i.e. A&D)
The Business Development Manager must have a strong professional network and active relationships within our targeted customer base. He or she must also have a demonstrated record of developing strategic accounts, market development plans, and executing to achieve revenue and profit goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Highschool diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, or related field is preferred.

Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience selling electrical components, systems, or assemblies, preferably in Aerospace & Defense.
  • Experience working directly with A&D prime contractors and end-user customers.
  • Proven success in sales development, strategic planning, and forecasting.

Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of market research, competitive analysis, and business development strategies.
  • Strong technical product and application knowledge relevant to electrical components, systems, and assemblies.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, customer needs, and technology advancements within Aerospace & Defense.

Skills:

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Establish a strong branding position and revenue base in scope of work over a defined period.

Customer Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain high-level relationships with strategically impactful customers to grow ICS's market share.
  • Engage with key decision-makers within Aerospace & Defense prime contractors and end-user customers.
  • Attend and support trade shows, industry conferences, and technical symposiums to generate leads and maintain market knowledge.

Market Research & Strategy
  • Conduct market research to assess opportunity sizing, application trends, product fit, and competitive landscape.
  • Solicit, validate, and communicate information related to market opportunity sizing, application information, product fit insight, development needs, resource recommendations, and technology/business trends to management and cross-functionally.
  • Provide strategic input to executive leadership based on market intelligence.

Internal Collaboration & Strategic Planning
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to align business development efforts with company objectives.
  • Collaborate internally to develop pricing strategies (price book management), contracts/agreements, and business analytics.
  • Be accountable for the health and development of the business opportunity pipeline within assigned areas.

Forecasting & Reporting
  • Develop and present regular revenue and booking forecasts for scope of work on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Track key performance indicators and adjust strategies as needed to meet revenue and profit goals.

Travel Requirements
  • Travel 60-80% of the time to engage with customers, attend industry events, and support business development efforts.

Internal and External Relationships
