This role sits at the intersection of identity, risk, operations, and emerging technology. You will help define the future of identity verification across Uber's platform by evaluating new verification methods, assessing vendor performance, exploring Digital ID solutions, and identifying opportunities to improve how both consumers and earners establish trust on the platform.
We are looking for a highly curious and analytical operator who dives deep into data, asks the right questions, and takes ownership from problem identification through solution execution. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, forming strong hypotheses, and translating insights into clear recommendations, improved processes, and measurable impact.
The ideal candidate combines structured thinking, investigative rigor, stakeholder influence, and strong business judgment, and is comfortable operating from strategy through execution in a dynamic, global environment.
What You'll Do
- Analyze verification performance, user behavior, operational metrics, and customer insights to identify opportunities to improve identity confidence and reduce friction across Uber's platform
- Help shape Uber's consumer and earner identity verification strategy, balancing trust, safety, compliance, growth, and user experience considerations
- Evaluate emerging identity technologies and verification methods, including Digital IDs, reusable credentials, biometric verification, and other industry innovations
- Assess vendor performance, service quality, operational effectiveness, and verification efficacy to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement
- Lead analyses, pilots, and proof-of-concept evaluations for new identity solutions, technologies, and verification approaches
- Develop and drive recommendations to improve verification outcomes, operational processes, vendor quality, and user experience globally
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, Procurement, Risk, and Business Decelopment teams to design and implement scalable identity solutions
- Build and own reporting and measurement frameworks to assess identity health, verification effectiveness, vendor performance, and business impact
- Leverage data and AI tools (e.g., LLMs, automation, advanced analytics) to accelerate analysis, generate insights, and improve operational efficiency
- Communicate clear, data-driven narratives and recommendations to influence stakeholders and drive strategic decisions
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, analytics, trust & safety, vendor management, product operations, or a related field
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas
- Experience utilizing generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, or similar) to automate routine tasks, improve workflows, or enhance analysis
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on identity verification, authentication, fraud prevention, trust & safety, risk, KYC/KYB, account integrity, quality assurance or related problem spaces
- SQL proficiency and experience working with large datasets
- Experience evaluating vendor performance, service quality, operational effectiveness, or customer experience outcomes
- Experience leveraging AI tools to analyze data, automate workflows, or enhance decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to break down ambiguous problems, ask the right questions, and identify root causes
- Experience turning data into actionable insights and driving strategic decisions
- Track record of improving operational processes, vendor outcomes, product experiences, or policy decisions based on analysis
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority across global teams
- Excellent communication skills, including synthesizing complex findings into clear, compelling recommendations
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and drive multiple workstreams simultaneously
