Job description

Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Operational Execution

Partner with the Director to translate strategy into operational plans. Run day-to-day department operations: capacity, resourcing, and prioritization across brands, internal teams, agencies, and vendors. Support execution and reporting on the annual marketing plan. Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Marketing Technology & AI Operations

Own Monday.com as the department's central work management platform, plus the broader martech stack (DAM, CRM/loyalty, marketing automation). Own the AI-assisted operating layer: direct AI to draft intake records, status rollups, briefs, and reports, with human review after anything counts. Set and enforce the team's AI usage standards and data-handling rules with IT, keep configurations current, and train the team — including RMMs — on approved workflows.

Agency & Vendor Management

Serve as the primary day-to-day agency liaison: creative reviews, production schedules, approvals. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, SOWs, and invoice reconciliation. Relationship management stays fully human; AI may draft the paperwork, this role verifies it.

Business Operations & Reporting

Administer the department's operating budget: tracking, forecasting, PO/invoice management, Finance coordination. Build executive dashboards on project status, workload, budget, and performance, with AI assembling first drafts on a reliable cadence.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in a senior marketing leadership role — marketing operations, account/client leadership, or business operations — with direct ownership of budgets, resourcing, and scope, not just oversight of them. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong account management experience — comfortable working across multiple companies, agencies, vendors, and partners at once, and building trust quickly with each. Demonstrated ability to master a work management platform quickly (Monday.com or comparable). Fluent with AI assistants (Copilot, Claude, or similar) applied to real operational work — drafting, summarizing, reporting, analysis. Strong analytical skills — comfortable interpreting budgets, dashboards, and performance data, with advanced Excel proficiency.

Strongly preferred: senior account or client leadership experience at a full-service advertising agency (Account Director, Group Account Director, VP Client Services, or equivalent), given this role's heavy day-to-day agency and vendor management. Candidates without agency experience but with an equally strong track record on the above will be considered.

Leadership Competencies

Manages numerous concurrent priorities across stakeholders without losing the thread, and pivots fast as needs change. Develops and grows direct reports, delegating effectively while staying accountable for their output. Solves problems proactively and keeps momentum in a deadline-driven environment. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.

Success Measures

On-time, on-budget execution across the brand and business-unit portfolio. Improved visibility into priorities, workload, budget, and performance. Monday.com and the martech stack fully adopted and optimized. Strong, durable relationships with stakeholders, agencies, and vendors.
