The Senior Manager, Market Research & Insights reporting into the Global Strategic Insights team for Alcon is responsible for delivering high-impact, decision-ready competitive intelligence that informs enterprise-wide decision making and go-to-market strategy. Key responsibilities include: translating competitive intelligence business questions into analytical problems, managing data collection - both qualitative and quantitative - to identify competitive threats and opportunities, and crafting compelling storylines. This role will also be looking towards the future, defining repeatable Competitive Intelligence processes as technology and needs of the organization evolve.
In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Monitoring market conditions, trends, and competitor activity; providing actionable insights and recommendations
  • Manage qualitative and quantitative data collection to identify competitive threats and opportunities
  • Manage external agency and resources applying expert judgment to filter, validate, and distill Competitive Intelligence into concise, decision ready output
  • Partner with senior business unit stakeholders to prioritize competitive intelligence needs
  • Drive action through cross functional collaboration and impactful communication
  • Drive continuous improvement to the processes and deliverables through adoption of new technology and Competitive Intelligence best practices.

What You Will Bring to Alcon:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred:
  • Experience in regulated or data intensive environments (e.g., healthcare, pharma, MedTech, life sciences).
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort influencing without authority.
  • Experience with CI tools, automated monitoring systems, and/or advanced search (AI) methodologies.
