Job description

Position SummaryThere will be three positions available: one position in Atlanta, GA; one position in Birmingham, AL; and one position in Birmingham, AL, or Gulfport, MS.

As a Strategic Initiatives Consultant, you will partner across HR, workforce analytics, and strategic workforce planning to turn workforce insights into clear, practical guidance. This role is ideal for a collaborative, curious HR professional who enjoys building trusted relationships, simplifying complex information, and helping teams use data to support employees and long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner across HR, workforce analytics, and strategic workforce planning teams to support enterprise people priorities and strengthen data-informed decision-making.
  • Assist with translating workforce data, planning outputs, and business trends into clear implications, practical guidance, and decision-ready insights.
  • Help guide HR partners in understanding and applying workforce dashboards, tools, standards, and insights in a consistent and meaningful way.
  • Co-design and deliver training, job aids, and resources that build HR confidence in using workforce data and telling clear workforce stories.
  • Support and co-facilitate workforce planning, talent, leadership, and strategy discussions where workforce insights are shared and applied.
  • Synthesize workforce trends across business areas to support consistent people data narratives and broader enterprise workforce insights.
  • Gather feedback from HR partners on tool usability, adoption challenges, resources, training, and ongoing enablement support.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, encourage consistent use of tools and resources, and support clear ways of working across HR.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Five or more years of experience in HR consulting, workforce planning, workforce analytics, organizational effectiveness, or related HR or business support roles
  • Experience supporting cross-functional HR, workforce planning, analytics, or business initiatives
  • Strong critical thinking, business judgment, and ability to translate workforce information into clear, practical guidance
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to support varied audiences through a consultative approach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort learning Microsoft Copilot or similar workplace technology tools
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with at least four days per week in the office to support partnership with HR and business leaders and strengthen working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with workforce analytics, HR data dashboards, or strategic workforce planning concepts
  • Experience developing or delivering training, resources, or enablement materials for HR audiences
  • Experience supporting change adoption, process improvement, or consistent ways of working across HR teams, business areas, or locations
  • Experience in the utility industry or a similarly complex, regulated business environment
