Senior Product Analyst, Competitive Intelligence

Role Overview

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Senior Product Analyst, Competitive Intelligence in San Mateo, CA to perform breakdowns and analysis on noteworthy competitive titles, analyzing revenue and engagement as well as systems and other design elements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field or equivalent and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience analyzing competitive title trends and broader market trends in the video game industry by analyzing monetization strategies and virtual economies; developing revenue and financial forecasting models using SQL, R and Python to project in-game monetization performance and live service revenue outcomes; building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL workflows) using SQL and R/Python to integrate, clean, and standardize datasets from multiple sources; designing and deploying interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Looker, and Power BI to track performance metrics and KPIs; defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for live service titles, including engagement, retention, and monetization, and creating benchmarks against industry standards; conducting competitive market analysis and creating structured reports on industry trends, competitive title performance, and monetization approaches to support strategic decision-making; applying statistical modeling techniques and performing statistical analysis on cohorts and retention, building forecasting models, automating databases, and integrating multiple internal and third party data sources; and in executing duties, utilizing data analysis tools and languages including Excel, SQL, R and Python, and data visualization tools including Tableau, Looker and Power BI.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
