Job Description

This role is responsible for managing workers' compensation claims across assigned U.S. states and Canada while overseeing financial operations, including vendor payments, settlement processing, and cost allocation. The position plays a key role in making sure financial accuracy, compliance, and visibility into workers' compensation and auto-related claims costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage WC claims in collaboration with TPAs across assigned jurisdictions
  • Oversee invoice intake, review, and payment coordination for TPAs, carriers, and legal vendors
  • Review and approve claim-related payments, including legal settlements and high-value disbursements
  • Calculate and validate WC and Auto allocation charges to field locations
  • Ensure accuracy of allocation outputs, reporting, and system alignment (Workday)
  • Analyze trends including claim frequency, severity, lag time, and cost drivers
  • Support actuarial analysis, reserve discussions, and financial reporting
  • Partner with Risk, HR, Safety, Payroll, AP, Legal and Operations

Must Have experience/Qualifications (e.g. minimum years of experience, certifications, tools, industry experience):

  • 5-8+ years Workers' Compensation, Risk Management, or Claims experience
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state WC claims handling and regulations; Canada exposure preferred
  • Experience working with TPAs, insurance carriers, and legal vendors
  • Licensed Workers Compensation Adjuster's License
  • Bachelor's degree (Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related)
  • Experience supporting financial reporting, allocations, or cost analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and payment accuracy controls

Any Critical Skills/Tools (e.g. Power BI, PMP, Python, SAP):

  • Advanced Excel (financial modeling, large datasets)
  • RMIS/Claims systems (ESIS, Gallagher Bassett, or similar)
  • Workday or similar HRIS systems
  • Data analysis and reporting (Power BI preferred)
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
