This is an unpaid internship.

Cabarrus Health Alliance is seeking a dynamic and motivated Community Outreach & Communication Intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to gain hands-on experience in the field of digital marketing while contributing to the promotion of public health initiatives. The selected candidate will work closely with the Healthy Living and Marketing teams, learning and applying social media strategies to develop and pilot a communication plan for THRIVE, the organization's 10-Year Wellbeing Strategic Plan.

Education/Experience:
Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program and studying Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for public health initiatives is a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms, aligning with THRIVE goals
  • Collaborate with the THRIVE leads to ensure visually appealing and on-brand materials
  • Schedule and publish posts on different social media channels, maintaining a consistent posting schedule
  • Implement strategies to increase audience reach and interaction across platforms
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of a communication plan and social media marketing campaigns to promote public health events and initiatives.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to evaluate the performance of campaigns and provide actionable insights
  • Monitor social media platforms for mentions of THRIVE and the Cabarrus Wellness Coalition and relevant health topics
  • Attend community events on behalf of CHA to help market services and provide public health education
Time Commitment: Approximately 10-20 hours per week; Fall Term (August 2026 - December 2026)
