Job description

Position Purpose & Summary
To assist servers in creating great guest experiences by greeting guests when they sit down, running food, bussing tables, and keeping the dining room clean and orderly. To ensure that all guests and members are provided with excellent service.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintains work schedule as assigned and communicates any necessary scheduling requirements to management in advance of scheduled release.
  • Provide detailed and thorough knowledge of culinary and beverage items.
  • Complete required and suggested training to achieve maximum knowledge.
  • Ensure that all food orders are communicated accurately to the cooks and the food delivered is accurate to what the guests ordered and placed "ladies first" correctly and promptly to the guest that ordered it.
  • Performs pre-shift side work to ensure success.
  • Reviews the menu and becomes thoroughly familiar with all items and means of preparation being offered that day, including the ingredients, preparation, sauces, and garnishes.
  • Review the wine list and be prepared to verbally communicate what wines compliment which food items and why.
  • Assists Front Servers in greeting guests, filling waters, Mise en Place, pre-bussing, communicating new orders, and delivering drinks as needed.
  • Checks with the Lead line cooks for any special instructions prior to the beginning of each shift.
  • Ensures the line is properly set up and clean throughout the shift.
  • Works well in the kitchen to help facilitate food getting out to the restaurant and room service.
  • Answer the phone professionally and assists guests with reservations and room service orders when needed.
  • Delivers room service in a timely manner following Four-Diamond level standards of service.
  • Performs guest call backs and tray pick ups for room service when assigned.
  • Learn and memorize all table numbers and seat numbers so they can deliver the orders without auctioning.
  • Always maintains a constant focus on professionalism and customer service.
  • Immediately cleans and resets any tables that are dirty.
  • Keeps the floor free of debris.
  • Complete cleaning and stocking duties thoroughly and as assigned.
  • Be prepared to speak about the offerings of the entire Resort and Spa including services offered and hours of operation.
  • Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
  • Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Completes additional training as needed.
    • Performs deep cleaning and organizing as assigned.
    • Assists with the functions of other positions within the restaurant and across the resort as needed.
    • Maintains proper functioning and cleaning of equipment used in kitchen and dining room.
    • Alerts management of needed product. Rotates dated product as needed. Removes expired product when needed.
    • Understands functions of departments across resort property.
    • Articulates location of departments and services when required Ability to work flexible schedule including required shifts on weekends, holidays, and as business requires.
    • Greet every guest, member, and team member with "I Am Proud" standards and set a positive tone for every interaction.
    • Provide extraordinary service that is "Enriching by Nature."

Position Requirements:
  1. Minimum Knowledge & Skills: Requires knowledge of food and beverage items and preparation, safe handling, and service techniques. Requires ability to verbally communicate and record information in writing.

  1. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience:

Prior restaurant experience preferred.

Basic food handler certification and alcohol service certification (may be provided by organization upon acceptance of position).
