Job Description:


JSL Technologies, Inc. is seeking qualified Equipment Operators to support warehouse and logistics operations at the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC), Cheatham Annex. This is a contingent hire, pending contract award. The incumbent will operate heavy equipment in support of Civil Engineering Equipment (CEE), warehouse logistics, material handling, and transportation operations for Expeditionary Medical Systems (EXMEDS) programs

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
  • Must be able to operate vehicles up to 80,000 lbs

Required Skills and Certifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A endorsement
  • Standard transmission capability
  • Trailer endorsement
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate 4-30K forklifts

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to pass background investigation
  • Must complete required DoD/BUMED IT security training

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment Operation:

  • Operate heavy equipment and vehicles up to 80,000 lbs in support of warehouse operations
  • Operate 4-30K forklifts for material handling and movement
  • Operate Non-Tactical Vehicles and Equipment (NTVE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Transport CEE, CESE, containers, shelters, and other material as directed

Material Handling:

  • Support receiving, shipping, storing (stowing), selecting (picking), and inventory of general or specialized material and equipment
  • Perform re-warehousing of material in accordance with Government stow plans
  • Perform platform stowing of material by assigned EXMED platform
  • Move containers and shelters using proper MHE

Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance:

  • Conduct pre-start and post-operation vehicle inspections
  • Ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition
  • Report any damage or maintenance issues
  • Annotate starting and ending mileage accumulations

CESE Support:

  • Support preparation of CESE for shipment via air or surface
  • Perform mobile loading, securing mobile loads, and staging of CESE
  • Clean equipment including pressure washing exterior surfaces
  • Stage CESE in designated areas as directed by Government

Container/Shelter Operations:

  • Support movement and staging of ISO containers and shelters
  • Ensure proper MHE is used for container movement operations
  • Ensure all doors and ramps are closed and secured prior to movement

Safety Compliance:

  • Comply with all fire, security, and safety regulations (OSHA, CFR)
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations for vehicle operation
  • Report accidents/mishaps and property damage immediately
  • Maintain required training and certifications

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and vehicles in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply reference materials such as regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, and orders
  • Ability to read and speak the English language with correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format
  • Proficiency in US standard office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems)
  • Strong ethical principles and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Light to moderate physical effort required
  • Walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items
  • Lifting and carrying items over 45 lbs
  • Work is performed on hard surfaces

Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government- granted security clearance.
