Job Description Storm Search is conducting a DIRECT HIRE search for an Applications Engineer position in Noblesville, IN. What's in it for YOU?. Monday-Friday 1st shift Pay based on experience ($35-48/hour) Travel: ~40% domestic travel High-Impact Position: Work directly with customers to solve real-world machining and programming challenges Role Summary The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing high-level customer support by: Developing robust CNC production processes Meeting cycle time and quality expectations Ensuring on-time machine deliveries and successful runoff Providing customer training, both in-house and at customer sites This role is ideal for a senior CNC machinist / CNC programmer who enjoys working with customers, traveling, and owning projects from print to production.

Key Responsibilities Review and interpret customer part prints, time studies, and machine quotations to define process strategy. Function as a hands-on Applications Engineer, acting as both CNC machinist and CNC programmer to develop complete machining solutions. Write CNC programs using G-code (and preferably M-code) for lathes, mills, 5-axis, and turn-mill machines.

Perform machine setup and prove-out of sold machines, from initial run to final machine acceptance. Deliver operator and programmer training to customers, either at the customer site or in-house. Provide timely programming and technical assistance to customers and internal teams via phone, email, or site visits.

Qualifications 4+ years of experience as an Applications Engineer, CNC machinist, or CNC programmer working with complex CNC machines. Comfortable acting as a customer-facing applications engineer, providing training and technical support. Willing and able to travel up to 40% domestically, with occasional international travel.
