Job Description Storm Search is conducting a DIRECT HIRE search for a Design Engineer in Carson City, NV. What's in it for YOU?. 1st Shift | Monday-Friday Salary based on experience ($78,000-95,000/year) Opportunity to work on innovative product development from concept through production Join a collaborative engineering team with opportunities for technical growth and project leadership Key responsibilities include: Design and develop new mechanical products, components, and manufacturing processes using 3D CAD software Create detailed part models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and GD&T documentation for production Perform engineering calculations, design validation, and feasibility studies to support new product development Lead multiple engineering projects simultaneously from concept through product validation and production launch Develop manufacturing documentation, tooling concepts, and production methods to support efficient manufacturing Conduct research, testing, and analysis to evaluate product performance, reliability, and manufacturability Utilize Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and systematic problem-solving techniques to improve products and processes Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and evaluate alternate designs to optimize performance and reliability Investigate product and equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and cross-functional teams to support existing products and new product introductions Read and interpret customer specifications, engineering standards, and technical requirements to ensure design compliance Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and professional presentations for internal and customer review Manage engineering documentation in accordance with quality management systems and manufacturing standards Support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe and organized work environment We're looking for someone with: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related field 3-5 years of mechanical design experience from concept to production Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and GD&T Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
