Position: Transportation Engineer Location: Indianapolis, IN

Transportation Engineer (Roadway)
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Employment Type: Full-Time
For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together-our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add a Transportation Engineer to help us keep building.
Working with our Transportation team, you will lead roadway design and plan production efforts for transportation projects that improve mobility and safety across Indiana.

What You'll Do
  • Lead technical design and plan production efforts for transportation projects using MicroStation OpenRoads, carrying responsibility for deliverables from project initiation through completion.
  • Interact with clients, including INDOT, local agencies, other consulting companies, and contractors.
  • Prepare quantities and construction cost estimates for bidding.
  • Assist in developing project budgets, schedules, and technical proposals.
  • Apply civil engineering knowledge and specialized roadway design software, specifically ORD.
  • Adapt to evolving project needs and priorities while partnering with design teams to deliver quality results for clients.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of project ownership, attention to detail, communication, organization, collaboration, self-motivation, and teamwork.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a related roadway engineering position working on INDOT or local agency projects.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation ORD software is desired.
  • Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HY8, StormCAD, and other drainage software is desirable.
  • Experience with storm sewer drainage design, pavement markings, signing plans, 3D modeling, and maintenance of traffic plans is a plus.
  • Roundabout and RCUT design experience is a benefit.
  • Thorough understanding of the Indiana Design Manual and INDOT Standard Specifications.
