Job description

Job Summary -

We are looking for a hardworking and dependable Yard Laborer to support day-to-day operations in our yard and storage areas. This role is responsible for keeping the yard organized, assisting with material handling, cleaning, loading and unloading equipment, and supporting crews with tools and supplies as needed. The ideal candidate is physically capable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently in an outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and trailers
  • Organize and maintain yard inventory, keeping areas clean and hazard-free
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of yard equipment and workspaces
  • Assist mechanics or operators with fueling, greasing, or light maintenance tasks
  • Operate forklifts, skid steers, or other yard equipment (if certified/trained)
  • Stage materials and equipment for outgoing crews or incoming deliveries
  • Track materials and supplies and notify supervisor of low inventory or damage
  • Follow company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
  • Assist with snow removal, storm prep, or other seasonal yard duties as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Yard Foreman or Supervisor

Qualifications -

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Prior experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction environment preferred
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, construction materials, and equipment
  • Forklift experience and certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Valid driver’s license
