Job description

Security Guard / Officer 

Employment Status: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay Range: $18.00–$18.15 per hour
 Must be at least 18 years old
Availability: Closing shifts and weekends are required

Position Summary

The Security Guard / Officer – Attendant helps provide a safe and secure environment for our Team Members and customers. This role protects company assets, helps minimize loss, responds to safety and security concerns, and provides exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help ensure the safety and security of all Team Members and customers.
  • Inspect the interior and exterior of the building for safety and security concerns.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents requiring First Aid, CPR, or AED assistance.
  • Report in-store accidents and incidents to the appropriate departments.
  • Prepare accurate incident and investigation reports.
  • Work collaboratively with other Security Officers and store leadership.
  • Monitor and support safe, orderly traffic flow.
  • Educate Team Members on safe work practices and shrink-control procedures.
  • Attend and support safety and department communication meetings.
  • Complete safety, security, and shrink-related audits as directed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.
  • Operate company vehicles as needed and travel occasionally.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Entry-level position; 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Security Guard License preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of CCTV systems.
  • Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen standards.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including closing shifts and weekends.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Examples of Daily Decision-Making
  • Determine when First Aid can be administered and when additional medical assistance should be contacted.
  • Assess safety or security concerns and determine the appropriate response or escalation.
  • Identify situations that require documentation and notification to store leadership.
Working Conditions 
  • Frequent walking and standing throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including winter weather.
  • Regular movement throughout the store, parking lot, and surrounding property.
  • Ability to respond promptly to safety, security, and emergency situations.
