How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Material Coordinator you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

The material coordinator is responsible for managing the site engineering stores inventory and also for ensuring that the maintenance work order kitting process is effective. 

You will act as the focal point for acquisition, scheduling, marshaling and distribution of spare parts, consumables, materials, equipment and supplies necessary to keep plant and facility assets operating safely at optimal levels of cost and performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Reviews materials / service requests and work orders, notes the needs for services, spare parts, consumables, materials, equipment and supplies. Identifies the sources and availability for materials and services whether internal (CMMS / Warehouse) or external.
  • Communicates the availability of required materials and services to the Operations Maintenance Gatekeeper, Maintenance Planner, or other material requestor; potential deficiencies vs. request date are noted.
  • Jointly update the need date as required, select appropriate transport methods based on priority.
  • Submit requisition for any standard priced / available materials utilizing preferred vendors to ensure contract pricing while complying with material standards.
  • For outside service work, may work with the Planner, Work Coordinator, etc. to verify contractors have been approved.
  • Stages any required materials and confirms service provider availability prior to the work order being scheduled.
  • Provides requisitioning support for requirements outside of Maintenance: Operations supplies, small projects, etc.
  • Submit all PO’s invoicing and submit all invoices for processing.
  • Track progress vs. required delivery date until receipt. Expedites when approaching required delivery date or progress is behind schedule.
  • Performs marshaling process for spare parts, consumables, materials, equipment and supplies for planned daily work and projects.
  • Manages the Marshalling area to maintain good housekeeping and safe work practices in the area.
  • Manages the Marshalling area by ensuring that jobs are active and up-to date per the schedule. Coordinates the disposition of all surplus material if not.
  • Execute emergency requisitioning for emergency jobs, including after hours if needed.
  • Support shipping needs related to the Repair and Return process as applicable.
  • Operates forklifts and other materials handling equipment as required.
  • Updates material status in CMMS and communicates to Planner, Scheduler, Engineers, Operations, etc. as appropriate on the status of their request
  • Works with the Work Coordinator in re-stocking kitted material that was not used on a job by sending back to Stores

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of operational experience within an industrial plant in a materials coordination.
  • Knowledge of SAP/CMMS requisition system and store stock material master systems
  • High-level organizational skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to successfully interface with various stakeholders (procurement, purchasing, work coordinators, stores/warehouse, suppliers etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance work process (planning, scheduling, logistics, etc.)
