Job description

Solid Rock Recruiting- The #1 Glass and Glazing Recruiter in the USA Senior Estimator Commercial & Residential Glass

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota Area
Relocation Assistance: Available
Position Type: Full-Time
Industry: Commercial Glass | Storefront | Architectural Glass | Shower Enclosures

The Opportunity

Solid Rock Recruiting has partnered with an established glass contractor seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join its team. This is not a position for someone who simply performs takeoffs and sends out bids. The company is looking for an experienced glass professional who understands how to estimate work, build relationships, sell projects, and coordinate successful handoffs to operations.

This individual will serve as a key point of contact for commercial contractors, builders, property managers, and customers throughout the estimating and sales process. The right person will have the technical knowledge to accurately price work and the communication skills to turn opportunities into profitable projects.

Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

The Senior Estimator will own opportunities from initial customer contact through estimate, proposal, sale, and project handoff. Responsibilities include:

  • Meet with customers and contractors to evaluate project requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Perform accurate field measurements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, scopes, and proposals.
  • Present pricing and project scope directly to customers.
  • Follow up consistently on outstanding estimates and opportunities.
  • Convert estimates into profitable sold work.
  • Maintain established estimate close-rate and revenue goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, builders, property managers, commercial accounts, realtors, and restoration companies.
  • Generate repeat business and identify additional revenue opportunities.
  • Coordinate awarded projects with operations, dispatch, and installation teams.
  • Verify materials, special-order products, and project requirements before installation.
  • Track the estimating pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasting.
  • Maintain organized customer, estimate, and project documentation.
Project & Product Experience

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on estimating experience with a combination of:

  • Commercial storefront systems
  • Commercial glass and glazing
  • Windows and glass replacement
  • Commercial doors and hardware
  • Shower enclosures
  • Tabletops
  • Specialty glass
  • Mirrors

This is a hybrid technical estimating and relationship-driven sales position, so the ability to communicate with customers is just as important as the ability to produce an accurate estimate.

What We're Looking For
  • 2 to 3+ years of commercial/storefront glass estimating experience required.
  • 2 to 3+ years of shower estimating experience strongly desired.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and residential glass systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Strong field measuring skills.
  • Excellent mathematical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proven customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage an estimating pipeline and follow opportunities through completion.
  • Comfortable visiting jobsites and working directly with contractors and customers.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Technology

Experience with the following is beneficial:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Google Workspace
  • CRM systems
  • ServiceTitan
  • GDS
  • Smart Glazier
  • CRL software

Direct experience with every platform is not required, but candidates should be comfortable working with estimating, CRM, and project-management technology.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity for an experienced glass estimator who wants to be more than another person behind a computer producing bids.

You'll have the ability to build relationships, develop business, influence revenue, and see the projects you sell move from estimate through installation.

The company is looking for someone who can become a key long-term member of the organization, and they are willing to provide relocation assistance to bring the right person to the Sioux Falls area.

Ideal Candidate

This opportunity is particularly attractive for a Commercial Glass Estimator, Senior Estimator, Glass Sales Estimator, Glazing Estimator, or Estimator/Project Manager who understands storefront and architectural glass and wants a role with greater customer interaction, ownership, and opportunity to directly impact the business.
